2023 Workshop: Padding it Out with Pete Kuhn

 The Perfect Fitting Kayak

Pete has been kayaking for over 30 years, and an ACA Level 4 sea kayak instructor for the past 16 years, with a traditional/Greenland endorsement. He shares his passion of kayaking by teaching others at numerous kayaking symposiums, both modern and traditional, in the Midwest. Getting kayaks to truly fit the paddler or vice versa has also become a point of focus to realize the full potential from your skills and kayak.

This workshop will cover how to make adjustments to the inside of a kayak cockpit. We will cover seat and foot peg adjustments/modifications followed by customizing thigh braces with foam, using a cut-a-way kayak to show possible placement of modifications. Materials and shaping techniques will also be discussed and demonstrated. Come learn the how and way of using foam to customize the fit of your kayak and bring your rolls to the next level.

Then Pete will help you create a custom fit for you and your kayak.

Time: Thursday, September 7th starting at 10:00am
(Workshop fee includes Wednesday night accommodations and Thursday Breakfast; we will order pizza Wednesday evening.)
Price: $50
